Every year there are “hot” colors that are really in style. We’ve seen turquoise shine and radiant reds lighting up the runways. The trends vary from year to year; in 2011, Honeysuckle Pink was the color to watch. Who knows what 2012’s big colors will be? We can get an idea from what designers are putting into their collections and the predictions of fashion gurus. Obviously, color choices will vary depending on the season but it’s been foretold that the following three color choices will dominate the year.

Charlize Theron and Michael Kors Josie

Charlize Theron rocks a red orange that has been dubbed “tangerine” to the “Young Adult” premiere. The bright color has lots of energy and looks fantastic on her. To tone down the tangerine leather dress, Charlize completes the look with nude strappy sandals similar to the Michael Kors Josie. The neutral Michael Kors pumps will pair perfectly with this years boldest and brightest trends, letting the colors shine instead of competing with them.

Kim Kardashian and Kate Spade Marlena

Kim Kardashian foreshadows the future of fashion in a vintage inspired lime green dress while walking the streets of NYC with then-hubby Kris Humphries. Lime, along with other fruity, tropical colors are expected to be big this year. Kim ups the fun factor of the dress by pairing it with bright blue pumps, similar to the Kate Spade Marlena. These Kate Spade shoes are great for adding color to basic looks or complementing existing colors.

Danielle Doty and Badgley Mischka Fierce

Metallics are the new neutrals! They can be mixed and matched and paired with any color. Metallics will be big this year, and not just your standard gold and silver. Expect to see bronzes, platinum’s, coppers and even metallic versions of your favorite colors. Here, Miss Teen U.S.A., Danielle Doty pairs a golden dress with gold sandals, similar to the Badgley Mischka Fierce. These Badgley Misckha pumps truly are fierce and are a great choice for parties and clubs.
