It was all razzle-dazzle at the Plaza last week, where New York’s power elite (Mayor Bloomberg among others) joined hands with New York’s fashion elite at the—it’s a mouthful—2010 NYC & Company Foundation Leadership Awards Gala. Anna Wintour and Diana von Furstenberg were among big names in attendance. Dare Dis Duds? We declined. Everybody looked perfect, anyway. Yet their shoes can use backups in case they (gasp) ever decide to wear the same outfit twice. We came prepared.
Donna at her inimitable best, shows off city chic through dress and accessories. The splash of gray-spiked sundial necklace and black leather gloves are wonderful testaments to the staying power of the Donna Karan brand. We would love to see this outfit mated with the design instincts of daniblack. A for-instance? We have our eyes on the daniblack Eliana Black Suede pump.
Anna Wintour…what a delicious study in Posh on Toast! Anna looks great in this three-piece ensemble that makes the most of tweed with fur trim. Biviel has the perfect boot to pick up the darker shades of brown in her fur trim. We say it’s the Biviel BV2816 Engineer Boot Antelope Suede.
We adore the casual grace that model Alec Wec-brings to clothes. She looks every inch the supermodel in this patterned dress with softly draped neckline and capped sleeves. We’re interested in shoes that can carry this dress for day wear, and the answer is Dolce Vita. This is the Dolce Vita Mariel Brown Leather sandal, perfect for all portside gladiators.
