As the year comes to a close, it’s nice to look back and remember all the things that stood out. What did you love? What did you hate? Anything in particular that you’ll never forget? Pop culture plays a big part in our lives and we are surrounded by media and access to celebrities, movies and music. To celebrate the upcoming new year, let’s take a look at the music videos that made us laugh in 2011.
Katy Perry and Kate Spade Crown
Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night” – as if the song wasn’t playful enough, the video is hilarious. It features a nerdy teenage version of Katy Perry with braces, big glasses and an awesome 90’s wardrobe. More than that, it has crazy cameos of old school stars including Hanson and Debbie Gibson ( a precursor to Britney Spears). Here, funny lady Katy is seen snagging statuettes at the peoples choice awards. She rocks a funky purple dress and pairs it with pretty pink peep toes, similar to the Kate Spade Crown. In these bow adorned Kate Spade heels, you’re sure to feel like a princess (or a pop star, whatever you’re into).
Jessie J and Jeffrey Campbell Elegant
Brit singer Jessie J. is known for her eclectic fashion sense. Surprisingly, this is one of her more mundane ensembles. Her broken foot doesn’t get in the way of fashion at the MTV VMA’s. She shines in a glittery corset body suit, sparkly tights and a single studded slip on, similar to the Jeffrey Campbell Elegant. This Jeffrey Campbell shoe may just be one of the toughest looking loafers we’ve ever seen. Her video for “Who’s Laughing Now” covers some serious subject matter (bullying) but we love Jessie J as the odd lunch lady.
Ke$ha and Stuart Weitzman Fjord
Ke$ha’s video for “Blow” is funny, but not necessarily in the ha ha sense; more like the strange sense. It’s definitely unique, the kind of video you’ll watch and wonder if maybe you need some rest. There are rainbows, unicorns and quite oddly, a mounted James Van Der Beek. Half dream and half nightmare this video is one hundred percent interesting. Here Ke$ha is seen at a Casio watch event wearing some shocking blue watches, and shocking blue lipstick. Her dress is quite trendy as are her ankle boots, similar to the Stuart Weitzman Fjord. These Stuart Weitzman boots are simple, yet stylish.
