Parisians cried je vous aime this week for the film “Le Discours d’un Roi” (The King’s Speech) which had its Paris debut at Cinema UGC Normandie. Dreamboats and dream girls posed for photogs. Dress was formal and fabulous. Colin Firth who portrays King George in the film was there; so was director Tom Hooper and other big names in cinema like Harvey Weinstein and actress Kristin Scott Thomas. We watched everybody warching the film, of course, to take home our five Ws: who wore what with which shoes.
Livia Giuggioli, the beautiful Mrs. Colin Firth, is flanked by Colin and the film’s director, Tom Hooper. Her impeccably cut black dress has a royal swash of a sash. We suggest a royal swash of a shoe by Kate Spade as a perfect match. We are partial to the Kate Spade Copa Wedge Black Suede: we love its wedge for height, peep-toe elegance, criss cross vamp, and quality suede.
Actress Clotilde Courau shows a contemporary trend in formal dress—embellishments are no longer on the neck or wrist but on the shoe. We love her decorated pumps but we were thinking along the lines of knockout boots. Stuart Weitzman knows what to do for chilly nights when boots are destined for a red carpet. The Stuart Weitzman Yetala Boot Black Suede is where suede, fur and leather all come together.
Julie Gayet shows how to get away with leggings, black trench coat, and a Gayet smile. It’s all in the shoes. These geometic wonders make Julie the night’s It girl. We have a smashing alternative, though, from Aquatalia by Marvin K. It’s the Aquatalia by Marvin K. Rouge Ankle Boot Black Suede. Check these out–classic silhouette, waterproof suede, elegant strap and buckle and, if that were not enough, plaid fabric lining with full inside zipper.
