London last week was the place to hang for first-class fashion happenings. The queen of events was an oh so posh private dinner and party thrown by Dior at ultra-distinct Claridge’s Hotel. Stars and models with  A-list status clinked glasses and pecked cheeks. Visual pleasures didn’t stop with the lace, leather and feathers. A fantastic ocean fantasy of a tree was unveiled, the work of John Galliano, creative director of Dior. Hardly your grandma’s Yule tree. Very Palm Beach Meets Guggenheim. Shoes were very Gorgeous But We Have Something Better.

Kelly Brook, British model and actress, dominated the click-clicks at the Dior party with this frou-frou strapless dress in beautiful feathers. We could have lifted the party look higher with these jeweled delights from Sam Edelman Shoes. This Sam Edelman Lorissa Pump Black Suede shoe would have given Kelly’s look a big G for Gorgeous.

British supermodel Stella Tennant poses with Big Boss Sidney Toledano, chief executive of Dior. She wore a Dior in black lace. Fashion blogistas liked her dress but we don’t know. The dress did not put us in a very festive mood. We think the dress needed a Steward Weitzman Evening solution. We are all for the Stuart Weitzman Evening Marimbow Black Satin peep-toe evening pump. We love the way a bow artfully placed on this shoe can play to the shoulder detail of Stella’s dress.

Model and actress Clara Paget delighted fans at the event with an all-urban vintage look. We like her combo of sweet nothing with black leggings. Leather and lace is this season’s go-to mix and she’s definitely keeping it edgy. All the more reason for Clara to rock with Golden Goose Shoes. We’re hot on the Golden Goose Biker Boot Black Leather. The boots have pure vintage detailing.

Model Tali Lennox, daughter of singer Annie Lennox, takes advantage of creative genes to shine on her own with Jug Band chic. She showed up at Claridge’s looking lovable in a mash-up of sheer-type night dress and evening purse with black hat and shoe boots. Tali could have gained a 10-plus troubadour effect by leaning on the Everybody label. This is the Everybody Emerald Sandal Black Leather.
