Tall, petite and anything-but-average media kittens paraded their vamped looks and blazer bravado at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2011 at Lincoln Center in New York. Carmen Electra, Jennifer Lopez, Nicky Hilton, an icy blonde Kelly Osbourne, and other artistes pulled out all kinds of creative guns as they posed for photographs in crazy-but-it-works textured contrasts of lame nite tops with hiking shorts, or even lame nitespot shorts with fuzzy wool office jackets.
Sarah Jessica Parker was in her usual All My Separates Work Somehow mode, posing in a white chef tunic with a billowy fringe skirt and bohemian boots. We know that shoe-focused alter ego Carrie would have definitely picked these gorgeous, perfectly matched light purple suede Minnetonka Trampers, with fringe and lace, for a truly finished look.
Kendra Wilkinson did the Vivienne Tam show with her own fashion performance as a head-turning Rock Star Plays Top Executive in girly-girl blouse, blazer, and rolled-cuff blue pants. We can’t help picturing her really rocking, though, with Stuart Weitzman’s delicious Chantelle black satin peep toe pumps, which would provide great height and comfort for the new mom.
Whitney Port’s clean room layered frock took on powerful vibes with her gorgeous legs and power moves but we think she could have really kicked it up with these Jeffrey Campbell Snick platform sandals in natural leather. Like stepping up from ah to Awesome.
