A-listers huddled at a techno-cool space in Manhattan last week for Google’s New York launch party to toast its new fashion site, Oh, what! Did you think Google was going to limit its reach to street maps? Google is invading your closet! Designers like Isaac Mizrahi and Wall Street analysts think Google’s fashion site idea is way cool: It aims to figure you out, peg your taste, and help you choose the right items. We’re not into Google algo-rhythms, but depend on it: We have the right celeb shoe-fits…and we took notes at the Google event.

There’s “dressed” and there’s “totally dressed” and Carey Mulligan was totally dressed at the Google bash. Mulligan here is a walking ad for fine boutique—that is, if fine boutique means a place where you walk out with a couture look. She wore a Lanvin animal print dress, African-motif neck piece, and brown YSL heels. Still, our fabuloso muse whispers, “Carey, Stuart Weitzman Evening!” The dress cries out for the Stuart Weitzman Evening Gigritz Brown Satin treatment.

Claire Danes posed at the Google party in a charming ensemble by Zac Posen. We extend a charmed tribute to Zac. We love when designers love women–the flattering cut of this vest delivers contrast in all the curvaceous places. What better way to maximize her clothes than with Tory Burch shoes. This is the buttery Tory Burch Eddie ballet flat, smoke grey patent.

Ashley Olsen in sister-solo pose shows how great she can look when not huddling with Mary Kate in 3X fur coats. Her whisper-soft Balenciaga sweater looks great against her miniskirt. We know how to give this outfit even tons more personality via Fly London. These are Fly London Yale Mary Jane wedge black leather shoes, with a fantastic looking instep strap—the shoes do magic for black-leggings chic.

Mary Kate did her sister-solo nicely at the Google bash. We love the clothing webs she weaves. Her outfit here does not disappoint. We like her mix of light mini and top with black coat for a playful edge. We can always call on Jeffrey Campbell for shoes that keep the mood playful, day and night. Jeffrey Campbell Pixie black suede platform boots get our vote as class-act boots for Mary Kate.
