The stars came out to twinkle bright at the Grand Ballroom on Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles on November 13 for The 2010 Governors Awards. The second annual event, which honored Francis Ford Coppola and French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, celebrated awards conferred by the Academy’s Board of Governors.
Hilary Swank stunned onlookers as she posed in her haute couture Marchesa gown. The strapless, hand-painted black and midnight tulle dress with sculptured drape detail was slightly modified from the designer’s spring 2011 show. Swank paired the asymmetrical design with Christian Louboutin for Marchesa peep-toe booties. To better show off her stems, we think Swank should have opted for these Prevata Yo Yo Pumps in black.
The effortlessly-beautiful Marisa Tomei kept things classy by donning a distinctive corseted dress by Vivienne Westwood. Tomei teamed her couture dress with a Katy Rodriguez jacket and Salvatore Farrago bag and shoes. But we think the beautiful emerald green leafy print would have paired well with Wanted Shoes’ Bloom Ballet Flats.
As always, Natalie Portman beautified the red carpet in a Lanvin dress and Jamie Wolf earrings. She added Stella McCartney sandals to her silk-wrap gown, which boasts a waistband and a pompom detail on the shoulder. To amp up her look, Portman should have rocked these Chinese Laundry Willy Silver leather sandals.
