The red carpet is always a place of hits and misses and the 2010 MTV Music Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. were no exception. I’ve picked one winner and one loser–there were so many ladies on the red carpet!

Jessica Biel traded in her usual sexy look for the cute teeny bopper look. It was all about pink and black with polka dots and sequins, even down to the shoes, black and silver glitter 1920s-esque sandals. She looked more like she was 12 and it was entirely too much glitter. Her Giambattista Valli dress became more of a clown suit than a glamour piece.

With an outfit like that, you need to have simple, yet elegant and classy shoes. Dolce Vita’s Hayword stacked platform in black suede is always classic and chic.

She could have even pulled off Stuart Weitzman’s Lovechains black croc- embossed pumps with the gold tone chain–another classic that’s fashion forward.

Kristen Stewart, on the other hand, killed it in a spaghetti strap form hugging top and grey tweed mini skirt with a chunky black belt. She accessorized with light jewelry and black cross strap heels. Her long legs were the center of her outfit and her extensions were classy. Her shoes looked a lot like an all black version of Jil Sander pewter/black leather two- tone platform sandals. You can never go wrong with Jil Sanders.
