Music and Fashion Never Looked So Good

The 38th Annual American Music Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, this past Sunday, November 21. Musicians, models, and actors were clad in fashionable attire to celebrate this spectacular past year in music. Performers Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Usher, Miley Cyrus, and more took the stage to perform live, while an audience laden with celebrities enjoyed the fete.

Long are the days of shredded jeans and flannel for Avril Lavigne. The rocker got graphic for the red carpet in this fitted black and white Dolce & Gabbana dress. We think the punk princess could have swapped her peep-toe booties for these MIA Limited Edition combat lace-up boots to get more of that trendy, distressed look.

Fergie turned heads with this super short, embellished Falguni and Shane Peacock dress. The cobalt blue and black number would pair fabulously with these Kelsi Dagger Iona suede black boots. Kelsi Dagger is confident, independent, slightly dangerous, and speaks to the accelerating velocity of how young people live today— just like this Black Eyed Pea.

Taylor Swift arrived at the awards in a stunning ensemble of a Collette Dinnigan dress and Jimmy Choo heels that was a show stopper. However, her performance outfit could have used more pizzazz. Swift sang her latest song “December” in an all black number, which consisted of skinny black pants and a black blazer. Instead of simply blending in, she would have grabbed more attention in these modernized ankle boots from Vic Matie.
