For those of us not in Australia it may seem surprising that department stores’ fashion launches are a big deal and well attended by glitterati. Yesterday, it was Myer Department Store that had Australia’s fashion writers ready to roll. The occasion was the store’s Autumn/Winter launch, held at The Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. Fashion writers brought back great reports of 1960s glam and vibes of Hollywood sirens up and down the catwalk. Those arriving at the show included power couples in sports and entertainment along with fashion designers. Here are highlights of show arrivals, with plenty of high-fashion looks of their own.
Simone Callahan posed with Tory Roberts, a poster couple of how to look great in anything when your suntan rocks. Fact is, they are both dressed in great style. The silky dress looks beautiful on Simone and the Elie Tahari sandal can do additional wonders. We like its delicate weave design that evokes lots of evening magic. It’s the Elie Tahari Lily Champagne Leather.
This is the fashion season of Wavy Curls, from Natalie Portman’s sea-nymph waves at the Oscars to the model shown here, Jennifer Hawkins. A black glitter dress with this siren-ish hair style can only be served by one shoe designer, Tory Burch, who has the inimitable Tory Burch Evelyn Sandal Black to complete this vamp look with high-end style.
What better sandal for the New Pink than a chic number from Loeffler Randall? Model Jessica Hart poses with Jennifer Hawkins in a stunning dress that draws on the 1960s prom dress with 2011 blushed pink pizazz. The Loeffler Randall Paige Criss-Cross Sandal Nude is a super match.
