Although spring is here, we’re not out of the woods yet–the weather can be quite unpredictable this time of year. Spring usually means lots of showers and rain boots will keep you prepared and your feet dry and warm. The typical rain boots are known as Wellington Boots and got their name because Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, wore them in the 19th century. They can be worn by men or women, usually sit just below or the knee and protect you in heavy downpours or lighter spring showers. The melting snow can also leave the ground wet and muddy–when you wear your Wellies, you won’t fall. And if you’re the adventurous type, you can wear them for camping and hiking.

Hunter Boots are very popular and have gained popularity since World War II. The Original and the Huntress are still popular to this day. There’s the classic black rain boots in short and knee-length heights. And then there are rain boots with a twist or new fashion sense, including newer styles like snake embossed boots with a boa pattern, pink and silver boots for kids and bold colors like orange, purple and yellow for adults. But even though they might have a different style on the outside, Hunter Boots are comfortable, fit well and are made to last many rainy seasons.
Other shoe companies are jumping on the rain boots wagon and are coming up with truly original and highly stylized boots that look more like works of art than something you would wear to shovel the snow in your driveway or walk to work in–Stuart Weitzman Puddles Rain Boot does a jaguar pattern, See by Chloe combines with rain boot with the lace-up military boot for an innovative style, and Chooka Boots have a motorcycle-inspired style with chains and studs. Once you get into work, you’ll want to keep these boots on.
