Jay Z, Beyonce, Chris Martin, Jessica Szohr, Blake Lively and a host of other celebrities partied on New Year’s Eve 2011 at the opening of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hotel and casino. Those who attended were decked out in haute couture for some good old fashioned partying.
Emmy Rossum of the upcoming Showtime series Shameless looked fabulous on the purple carpet in this Julien Macdonald dress and a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. We love that Rossum chose gold shoes to keep the ensemble monotone; however, we would have chosen Stuart Weitzman Evening’s Hiturn Evening Sandal. These have less material near the ankle creating a softer and more feminine look. And besides, how could any fashionista go wrong with a pair of Stuart Weitzman Evening shoes?
Singer and actress Christina Milian wore a Betsey Johnson dress and Steve Madden shoes to the evening’s fete. We love the girlishly chic look on the star, but would have opted for a less harsh shoe to go with Betsey Johnson’s feminine dress. We would have dressed Milian in these Martinez Valero Orli Black Satin pumps, which feature a smooth satin upper with bow and rhinestone detailing. The detailing on these Matinez Valero shoes creates a sassier and softer look.
Cheryl Hines, star of Curb Your Enthusiasm, attended the New Year’s bash in a Nicole Miller dress and Yves Saint Laurent shoes. But the matte black shoes seem to fall flat with the sparkling of the dress. In this case, Hines should have gone with Steve Madden’s Haylor Sandal in Gold Glitter. These Steve Madden shoes would have matched the gold reflection coming off of the dress’s material.
