Vintage Vibes

Vintage clothes are hip these days. Pieces from every era are worn by celebs daily and even modern style is influenced by vintage trends. Hemlines, cuts and patterns are all inspired by fashion eras of the past. From fifties chic to the crazy eighties, everything is wearable and trendy now. You can pull off sweater sets with pearls or tights with neon tops and look fantastic but creating a retro look can be complicated. You must modernize to avoid looking dated, unless of course, that’s what you want. Here are some stars who do retro, right.

Taylor Swift and Kate Spade Olympia

America’s sweetheart, Taylor Swift, is seen here arriving at Los Angeles International airport in an adorable vintage inspired ensemble. It has a sweet forties/fifties vibe with so many classic touches like her pearls and mustard colored trench. Another retro piece, her lovely loafers, are similar to the Kate spade Olympia. These menswear inspired Kate Spade shoes are a modern take on the loafers popular among school girls until the nineteen sixties. They’re dainty with a pretty patent edge and you’d be surprised at how versatile they are. Oh, they’re also crazy comfy and super cute.

January Jones and Pour La Victoire Portia

Actress January Jones is seen here leaving “The Today Show” in a modern ensemble that’s a nod to the eighties. Her pretty pencil skirt is electric blue and she pairs it with a leather jacket and suede shoes similar to the Pour La Victoire Portia. If she were actually in the eighties, the Pour La Victoire pumps would still work but her pencil skirt would be a mini and she might also be wearing some crazy tights or leg warmers. January is currently starring in t.v. show, “Mad Men” but has no movies lined up this year. It could be because she’s taken some extra time to care for her baby son Xander.

Melissa Joan Hart and Pour La Victoire Portia

Melissa Joan Hart from vintage teen hits “Clarissa Explains It All” and “Sabrina” wears a vintage inspired outfit to an ABC Family event. Her dress has a seventies style mod print and her flipped out hair is worthy of Charlies Angels. She lets her loose dress shine pairing it with nude pumps similar to the Pour La Victoire Portia. These Pour La Victoire pumps are a great nude heel that will add about five inches to your height. Melissa has had roles in over fifty movies and t.v. shows and has been nominated for over a dozen awards including Kid’s Choice and Teen Choice Awards, winning 8.
