What Not to Wear for Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving is often spent with family. It’s meant to be a peaceful, pleasant occasion where we remember what means most to us, and what we are thankful for. Of course, it can be nuts at times – lots of cooking, family feuds, you know the deal. Even still, out of respect for the occasion we often try to dress our best in looks grandma would approve. She’s getting old after all, if you wear those leopard print skinny jeans – she could confuse you for a leopard. Here are some funky outfits that are best suited for after the thanksgiving feast.

Nicki Minaj and B Brian Atwood Fontanne

This standout look is great for a fashion event, such as the Versace for H+M one Nicki is at. This look is not however, great for Thanksgiving. Crazy colors, prints and sequins might cause seizures and we shudder to think of what grandma would say about Nicki’s hair. We do love her playful shoes though and the B Brian Atwood Fontanne pumps have the same fun vibe. The B Brian Atwood heels are gorgeous and bright, we bet they’d be a blast to wear!

Kristen Stuart and Diane Von Furstenberg Salem

Kristen shines in a premiere worthy dress for the opening of Twilight’s newest film. Her dress is gorgeous but we wouldn’t recommend it for Thanksgiving dinner for several reasons. A long gown is a bit much for a meal and it’s see through with a lengthy slit, too revealing for most family fests. Her shoes, however are perfect for the occasion. We love the black peep toe pumps, similar to the Diane von Furstenburg Salem. These bewitching Diane Von Furstenberg pumps work all year long from family dinner to a New Years Eve bash.

Shanae Grimes and Stuart Weitzman Hipgal

Shanae Grimes keeps it casual at the Google Music launch party. She looks great for a laid back event and sure can rock those acid wash shorts. The problem with this look is that it’s a little too casual for the holidays. The boots though, similar to the Stuart Weitzman Hipgal could work for a Thanksgiving dinner. Pair the Stuart Weitzman heels with dark skinny jeans and a nice blouse and you’re good to go! Casual, but well kept – you can’t go wrong.
